Them=Us

"Them=Us: Photographic Journeys Across Our Cultural Boundaries", was launched by Harmony Movement, which called upon a group of Canadian photographers to highlight the spirit of diversity in Canada.
My area of focus was to reflect the cultural mosaic of my province, in particular amongst the First Nations and French Canadians living in rural areas of Québec.
And so, my own journey began.. meeting Caroline and Charles on their farm in St.Paul, as they leaped from one pile of hay to another.. lending my camera to Anthony and Gregory (ages 4 & 9) at an Innu Reserve of Maliotenam.. seeing their community through their lenses.. Their existing relationships with their subjects, gave expression to personal layers and perspectives inaccessible to me as a stranger in a new town. Their work was also featured in the collective experience of our photographic journeys.
